Hello friends,
Only two weeks of class left? How exciting! This is the first quarter that I haven't had at least one B-/C going into finals in my stupid economics classes. Not like academics matter.
I had one of those "I'm so lucky to be playing trombone here moments" last night. I was sitting between the new assiociate principal trumpet player of the New York Philharmonic, the Principal Trombonist of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and had the new bass trombonist from New World filling out my section. If only I could get a job...making money playing music sounds like a lot of fun.
Speaking off...I've been playing a few gigs around town and rumor has it that I may be able to have a residency with the Xiamen Philharmonic this summer. While driving to Waukegan, I was informed that they need trombone players and that I have some pretty sweet connections....ARE YOU SERIOUS? PLAYING TROMBONE IN CHINA???? I honestly can't stop thinking about it, so hopefully it works out....life really is a constant audition, you never know whos listening to you.
Otherwise this summer I am certainly going to be in Erie for the month of July for Gov school and I'm still not sure if I'll be in california or not in August. If I went to China, it would be in early September.
Only other news is that I'm hitting the recording studio a bunch in the next few weeks to record our jazz ensemble (which may be kinda bad) and The Fritz Schenker Nonet (which will be amazing). I'm a busy little bever eh?
Random Thoughts:
Love life is non-existent as always, but my trombone and left hand keep me pretty occupied.
I hate when my roomates play video games
Wo yao qu Xiamen!
love and sex to all
